Crowdtilt…what’s the point?

What are some of the reasons that people should use Crowdtilt? There are tons, but some of them spell out why collecting from a group is now easier (with Crowdtilt) than it was in the past…

1. Collecting checks and cash is a hassle: a lot of the time you aren’t able to collect what you thought you were going to or wanted to collect. Some people don’t ever pay while others will give you the run around until you forget. Who even carries around a checkbook these days anyways? With one-click payments and the ease of passing the campaign link around via email or social networks, Crowdtilt makes collecting money an effortless and quick process.

2. I’ll wait and pay later: some people want to “wait and pay later” because they want to wait and see if their friends are going, or because they feel like they have plenty of time and don’t want to waste the money now. Crowdtilt battles this in a couple different ways. The first is the campaign community: this shows everyone’s name and picture that has contributed to a campaign, but another powerful thing for some is the fact that you can see who HASNT paid. I know everyone can use this to their advantage, because there is always someone that you know should have paid, but hasn’t. Now you can see that they haven’t, along with everyone else who visits the campaign, and point it out to them. Usually the peer pressure in the campaign will do the work for itself. Another is time: people will wait until the event gets closer, for one reason or another. Now, with Crowdtilt, you can set a deadline-your “expiration” on the campaign that gives people a deadline to pay. If this is used right as the the tool that it is, campaign admins can really speed up their collection process. A lot of the time, the campaign community does all the work for itself. After all, who wants to be the only one who hasn’t paid (especially when everyone can see that) ?

3. Multiple functions: not only is Crowdtilt this amazing new vehicle for collecting money (for absolutely anything), but it also serves as a few other things for the campaign admins. Some people use their campaign as a means of RSVPing or confirming that otherwise would only be word of mouth and difficult to organize. Some campaigns have even been used to sell tickets for events and concerts, and the admin can simply use the list of who paid as the will-call list. Some campaigns are all about the message and the exposure, and not even as focused on the amount raised.

4. Viral is king: everyone seems to understand these days that taking something viral is the key to success, and if it happens-good thing are surely in store. If a campaign starts spreading around amongst friends and makes its way to other, bigger circles of people…that exposure is priceless. And there is no other real way to do this. We have even had some campaigns picked up by newspapers, news stations and blogs which becomes priceless exposure for the campaign effort and everyone who is involved.

5. The Tilt: is something that can be taken advantage of in many ways as well. If used correctly, your Tilt amount can create a game-like feature within your fundraising effort and it can also help attract big advocates. Advocates are going to keep passing around the campaign (taking it viral) to ensure that their contribution can and will make a difference and also to make sure that the campaign reaches its goal. People end up becoming emotionally attached to the campaign, and before you know it you will have a team of advocates helping you without them even realizing it. Set the Tilt at a level that will truly make a difference for your campaign, whatever it may be. If people know that the amount raised has to AT LEAST hit the Tilt before anyone gets any money, they will do their part…after all they would not contribute if they didn’t care right?

Its science guys! Trust us! We are working tirelessly studying campaigns and different behaviors within them to make sure we fill you in on all the good stuff. These are only some of the amazing features of a Crowdtilt campaign…so find out for yourself how awesome they are by trying one out!

The best part is—YOU CAN USE A CAMPAIGN TO COLLECT FROM A GROUP FOR ANYTHING!
